Visitors can see great preserved fortress walls, monuments from the Byzantium time, churches and splendid architecture of the national Revival. The small but unique old town has preserved 40 ancient churches and traditional Bulgarian houses dating from 11th to the 40th century. Tourism, fishing and boating is still the livelihood of a lot of its inhabitants.
